Semester 2 will be a more stressful season for both children and parents. How can parents support their children through their stressful moments, while managing their own stress? This session will discuss strategies that children and adults can adopt to thrive through the stressful season.

Speaker

Edgar K. Tham is Singapore's pioneer sport & performance psychologist. Employed by the Singapore government as its very first sport psychologist in 1995, Edgar is the founder and Chief Sport & Performance Psychologist at SportPsych Consulting, Southeast Asia's largest sport & performance consulting company.

He had personally coached numerous national team athletes, including Olympic and Regional- and World Championship-level athletes to achieve greatness.

He is currently an associate teaching faculty in psychology and sports/PE at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), and also lectures at external university programmes such as the University of Wollongong Australia (Psychology of Physical Activity & Health).

Moderator & Family Coach

Carol Loi is a certified digital wellness educator and a Fellow of the Center for Media Literacy. She is also a certified mental wellness coach and a Maxwell Leadership certified youth and family coach, as well as behavioural analysis consultant. She is a co-founder of SGFamilies, a ground-up movement for parents by parents to raise wholesome generations together.

She has served in the Singapore public service for over two decades, including the Economic Development Board, Ministry of Education and Info-communications Media Development Authority. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the Nanyang Technological University, specialising in technology and human capital management. Carol and her husband are raising two young adults.
